Arizona faces pressing conflicts between agriculture, urban growth, and the natural environment—and our faculty are leaders in addressing resource and environmental issues. Our research focuses on water, energy, and environmental economics as related to climate change effects and the use of incentive-based instruments by governments, agriculture, cities, and environmental advocates. This entails collaborating with natural scientists, along with local, state, and federal water and energy managers. Our faculty examine the economic role of water and property law, the economics of wildlife management, and non-market valuation, as we seek to understand how people use and value resources.
