Environmental & Natural Resource Policy

Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics Cooperative Extension faculty produce research relevant to real-world issues related to the sustainable and efficient use of natural resources and the environment. In particular, economic theory and methods are used to examine the relationship between agricultural production and environmental protection and how policy and government programs can affect the decisions made by farmers, ranchers, natural resource managers, and policymakers. Research encompasses broad topical areas such as agricultural biotechnology, climate change, conservation, energy, outdoor recreation & tourism, pesticide use & regulation, public lands, the U.S.-Mexico Border environment, and water resources.
