Dr. Athnos’ research examines how environmental policies affect markets, consumer preferences for environmental goods, and economics pedagogy. She enjoys working on interdisciplinary teams and collaborating with other instructors to build inclusive, impactful courses.

Dr. Athnos grew up in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, surrounded by abundant water resources. Later, her doctoral work studied water quality concerns in the Great Lakes Region. Now Dr. Athnos looks forward to learning more about water property rights and management in the American Southwest to address the challenges of Arizona’s regional water quantity and quality concerns.
