Welcome to New Faculty Member Anna Josephson and Congratulations on Receiving a Terrific Award!

AREC wishes to extend a warm welcome to its newest faculty member, Anna Josephson. Dr. Josephson completed her graduate work at Purdue University with a dissertation titled “Household Decision Making Under Stress: Three Essays on Agricultural Production in Southern Africa.” In addition, Professor Josephson has been awarded the Uma Lele Prize for Best Contributed Paper on Gender at the International Association of Agricultural Economics triennial meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia, for her paper “Share and Share Alike: The Impact of a Short Term Shock on Gendered Income Allocation in Malawi.” The paper explores intra-household resource allocation, including income earned jointly, in addition to that earned by men and women alone.
