AREC's Jeff Michler Finds Conservation Agriculture Practices Are not One-Size-Fits-All

In a new paper, "Conservation Agriculture and Climate Resilience" AREC's newest faculty member, Professor Jeff Michler, describes his work examining conservation agriculture (CA) practices by smallholder farmers in Zimbabwe, Africa. There are proven benefits to using CA techniques in farming, says Michler, particularly in years with low rainfall. Yet despite this, the majority of Zimbabwean farmers had abandoned CA 10 years after its introduction.
