Oct. 28, 2015

Professor and extension specialist George Frisvold and economic impact specialists Ashley Kerna and Dari Duval have won this year's College of Agriculture, Life and Environmental Sciences Outstanding Team Award for their work as the Cooperative Extension Economic Impact Analysis Team. In presenting the award, Dr. Jeff Silvertooth, associate dean and director of Cooperative Extension, noted that the team came together when the College and Cooperative Extension perceived a need to determine the economic costs and impacts of different programs, projects, and industries. Frisvold adds that in the short several years the team has been together, they have worked on about a dozen major and minor projects. Several publications from these studies include The Contribution of the Beef Industry to the Arizona Economy and Agriculture in Arizona's Economy: An Economic Contribution Analysis.
